“If you don’t have a dog…” Day Three of the Three Day Quote Challenge

The Three Day Quote Challenge has been so much fun! Once again, I thank  FOUR-LEGGED FURBALLS for tagging Dakota and I.  We love YOU and your blog and are thrilled that we have met you!

In the spirit of “Wordless Wednesday”, and the fact that I am on my way to have a lithotripsy for my kidney stones,  I am going to keep this one short and sweet.

I hope you enjoy my quote for the final day

Now, about the challenge:

There are three rules to this challenge, and they are:

1. Post for three consecutive days.
2. Choose and share one or three quotes each day.
3. Challenge three additional bloggers each day.

Today we are breaking the rules and are not going to tag three additional bloggers (but we DID the first two days!). If you would like to participate, just go for it! It was a blast!

Now, if you excuse me, I must go and have my side pummeled 2500 times (I am NOT kidding!)

One of many things we LOVE about this blog is the charming artwork that is created by the “Menagerie Mom”. Here is some info about her from the sidebar of her blog: “I love animals, and I always have. My parents first noticed my love for animals when I was a very small child, and I enjoyed a childhood in which I grew up with a variety of pets. My love for animals has remained strong — or grown stronger, if possible — into my adulthood. I earned a college degree in animal sciences, and I worked in the animal care field for years. What’s more, I am the human mother to an adorable clan of four-legged furball rescues, some of which are animals with special needs”

The Menagerie Mom also has recently introduced a “Daily Tip” feature at the bottom of each blog post, check it out because I am sure you will learn some interesting things, (as I have), if you do!

THANK YOU Menagerie Mom and the rest of the Four-Legged Furballs for tagging us!

I am a quote freak, I have been collecting them in notebooks since High School. I have a “menagerie” of books of quotes and my Pinterest board is chalk full of them!

Now, we are on to DAY TWO OF THE THREE DAY QUOTE CHALLENGE!!! (If you missed DAY ONE, CLICK HERE) Here is my quote for Day Two:

“You’re mad. Bonkers.

Off your head…. But…

I’ll tell you a secret

All of the best people are”

Alice In Wonderland

caren tiger face 1

For those of you who haven’t picked up on this yet (and if you haven’t I have NO CLUE as to why!) I am nuts. Certifiable in fact. Guess what? I wouldn’t want to be any other way.

I often wondered if the spelling of my first name (a “C” instead of a “K”) helped make me the unique person that I am.

I am a “face painter” (as evidenced above from a photo taken when I was a “Tiger” when the Detroit Tigers went to the World Series).

As far back as I can remember, I have always “marched to my own drummer.”

When I was a toddler I talked to my feet and my hands.

When I put slippers on as a child I thought my feet were going into their “houses.”
caren wig

  • I “rock out” in my car (singing and moving to the beat while driving)
  • I dance to the music in grocery stores while pushing my cart through the aisles.
  • I dance with my dog.
  • I dance with my cat.
  • I guess I like to dance.
  • As a little girl, when I watched Lassie, at the end of the show when Lassie raised her paw, I was down on my “haunches” and would hold my “paw” (my hand) up to Lassie.
  • When I was five I had a crush on Jerry Lewis
  • Also at age 5, my older sister told me The Three Stooges lived upstairs (and I believed her), the problem? We lived in a single story ranch home, we HAD NO “UPSTAIRS.”
  • I would jump off my bed as a kid while trying to “fly” like Peter Pan
  • I would run down the street with an umbrella and jump and try to fly like Mary Poppins.
  • If you watch The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and watch the show til the VERY END…you will see that he runs up the stairs in the audience. If time permits, he comes down the other side, runs up to the camera and waves. I WAVE BACK. I SIT ON THE COUCH AND WAVE BACK. (I told you I am certifiable.)

    hashtag the panda

Yes, I am a supposed “ADULT” and I bought a “Hashtag the Panda” FOR ME……..when that Panda comes out I am beside myself laughing

I could go on and on but I will spare you.

I am drawn to, and deeply appreciate others who are zany and “mad” in their own way. I don’t care for “bland” in anything. “Vanilla” bores me, (unless it is ice cream).   People who are too constrained and controlled scare me. Cut loose. Let go!! I think that those who are “mad” or  zany, are some of the most intriguing and fun people on the planet.

I guess I am drawn to pets

who are “mad” as well

The last rule of this challenge is for me to challenge three more bloggers each day. I’ve chosen three blogs, but please feel no obligation or pressure to participate in the challenge. (Some of you may have already been chosen, it is hard to keep up with everyone who already did this challenge, so please excuse me if you have already been chosen!) I know that not everyone has the time or desire to partake in blogging challenges, so please know that you only have to join in if you wish to and have time. That being said, here are the three that I’ve chosen to challenge today:

  1. Oreo and Chewy’s Mom from Sara’s Blog
  2. Mason Canyon from Thoughts In Progress
  3. Christine from Love Your Dog

I am looking forward to presenting some of my favorites today, and the next two days.

Now, about the challenge:

There are three rules to this challenge, and they are:

1. Post for three consecutive days.
2. Choose and share one or three quotes each day.
3. Challenge three additional bloggers each day.

For Day 1 of the challenge I chose the quote:

writing

This quote resonated with me the second I found it. One reason it resonated with me, was it was an important reminder that for both of my blogs I must always be true to ME. I attempt to write in a more conversational, less-formal style, and whatever I choose to feature or promote, I strive to make the topics/items that I post here, be things  that I believe in.

It also made me think about how each one of us, when we write, we “paint” in our OWN unique voices, or if we aren’t, we should be! Every blogger brings something unique and special to their blogs, THEIR VOICE. What glorious “paintings” you ALL create for so many of us! So THANK YOU ALL, for being YOU!!

2.) My special friend at Comedy Plus

3.) My new friend from Lucky Collie
