The ASPCA Announces ID Your Pet Day!

Our friends at the ASPCA asked if we would help  to remind pet owners that with warmer temps and sunshine, more time is spent outdoors, which poses an added risk of pets escaping. It is our pleasure to help spread the word!! To help keep pets safe this season, the ASPCA has created ID Your Pet Day on July 1st – a holiday to raise awareness about the importance of ID tagging your pet. This holiday is especially timely as July 4th is a time of year when many pets go missing due to fireworks.

On Sunday, April 10th,  ASPCA will celebrate its 150th anniversary, and in honor of this important milestone, they are launching 150 Days of Rescue, a nationwide action campaign that seeks to unite the country in making a difference in the lives of homeless and abused animals. Animal lovers are encouraged to visit and pledge their time between April 10 and September 7 to help animals in need, with the goal of reaching 150,000 actions for animals in 150 days. Ways to participate include volunteering at a local shelter, donating, fostering, adopting a shelter pet, etc. Animal lovers who log their good deed will also be given the opportunity to nominate their favorite animal shelter to receive a grant prize of $150,000!

Dog Tongue Tuesday:My Cousin Max

Hi all it’s Dakota! Back in December of 2011 I pawed a blog post that featured my woofie cousins and some of my kitty cousins that live in Florida. I had no readers then, (since my blog had just started that April, not that I have THAT many more NOW BOL!!), so I wanted to share portions of that post, and a few photos.

This photo was  taken by my Aunt Nancy.  Mom touched it up in Picmonkey. Doesn’t it look cool? The kitty at the top is “Jennifer”, the middle kitty is “Rosie” and the doggy is  “Max” who was a puppy at the time this photo was taken. He is an English Springer Spaniel. Aunt Nancy also has a kitty named Oscar, (who is Cody’s doppleganger),  and another doggy that looks just like Max whose name is Molly!!!!

This photo is one of my all time favorites of me and Aunt Nancy. Can you tell I have a giant crush on her?

She’s so pretty you can see why I love her so!!

Anyway, Max’s sister Molly wasn’t feeling well recently, (she is doing MUCH better now), and when Mom was texting with Aunt Nancy last Sunday, Aunt Nancy sent Mom  this photo of my cousin Max. Not only has he TOTALLY grown up from when you last saw him (if you saw him, BOL in 2011), but he is the PERFECT model for “Tongue Tuesday”…………..

“The Voice”

Saw this on our local news on Monday night. The video is actually 5 yrs old but is so worth a view! From YouTube: “Tucker, our one and a half-year old Schnoodle, plays the piano and sings along at least 3 or 4 times every day. In spite of all of his practicing, he really isn’t getting any better at it.”
