A Valentine’s Day Give-Away! Win a Luxury Dog Scarf from “Oh Tiny Heart” !

Hi and Happy Valentine’s Day all!! A few weeks ago I was excited to be contacted by a wonderful company that “makes and sells handcrafted luxury accessories for pooches from rare and fine materials you can’t find  anywhere else.”

I thought with today being Valentine’s Day, it couldn’t be more perfect  than to feature this company that I now “heart” on this special day of love!!! Why not treat your special dog to a luxury dog scarf from:

“Oh Tiny Heart”

THE OH TINY HEART STORY:

Launched on September 23, 2016 from our small San Francisco apartment, our handcrafted accessories combine our love of chic design with the comfortable and stylish fabrics and materials we love to wear ourselves. If we wouldn’t wear it, why should our pets?

We hope you come to love Oh Tiny Heart as much as we love the little pooch who started it all.

The beautifully wrapped package that I received for Dakota

WHY THEY STARTED:

We started Oh Tiny Heart after adopting our little fur baby, Mylo. When we first brought Mylo home, we found ourselves unable to stop shopping for things we thought he’d like — treats, toys, accessories — you name it! When we couldn’t seem to find accessories for him that we absolutely loved (we’re picky!), we decided to make our own.

HOW THEY STARTED:

Determined to create accessories we weren’t embarrassed to let Mylo wear, we rolled up our sleeves, purchased a sewing machine, a few bundles of thread, and began chopping up our old clothing. Sewing with discarded stretchy knits and delicate cottons forced us to master difficult fabrics right off the bat, setting the tone for the types of materials we’d end up working with most.

When we finally created an accessory we were proud of, we posted a picture of Mylo modeling our creation on Instagram, and comments demanding we sell our pieces started pouring in from friends and followers. That’s when we knew we had to open our own shop.

While we are still very much a mom and pop pet shop handcrafting accessories from our much-too-tiny San Francisco apartment, we feel our family has grown so much larger thanks to the amazingly supportive customers we are lucky enough to have.

We’d love for you to take a look at what we have:

Robin Scarf from the Signature Collection. Photo Courtesy of the Oh Tiny Heart Website. Click to visit!

The Robin Scarf is the scarf that I selected for Dakota to try.  It is from the Oh Tiny Heart Signature Collection. (There is also a Gateway Collection and Rare Collection). It is super soft, light as a feather, just beautiful, so beautiful, that I want to wear it, but Dakota insisted that I let HIM wear it! Dakota doesn’t always wear scarves or bandanas unless he has just returned from being groomed, so at first he wasn’t quite sure what to make of it:

The Robin scarf is a  royal blue beautiful sweater knit scarf. It’s super cozy to the touch, the fabric is super snuggly!!! This scarf is completely unlike any other scarf I ever put on Dakota. It’s so luxurious!! Once I let him know just how handsome he looked in this scarf he allowed me to take another photo:

I couldn’t be happier with Dakota’s scarf and am excited for you to check out all that Oh Tiny Heart has to offer! They also have Collars and Leashes!!!

Ok, I couldn’t resist and HAD to put the scarf on Cody too….he was a little less thrilled than I was:

#TBT Sheltie Singing for Popcorn on National Popcorn Day

FROM DAKOTA’S DEN: I was so happy when I saw that today was National Popcorn Day! We are HUGE popcorn fans in our home (we have it probably 3 times per week). This holiday is the perfect time to share portions of an older blog post, I am sure there are some who haven’t seen this. Hope you enjoy!

Dakota loves nothing more than sharing some popcorn with me (don’t worry, I pop mine myself, the old-fashioned way with the KERNELS, but yes I do it in the microwave and I don’t give him much!) I pop mine in the microwave in a bowl with a lid (with no oil, you can also do it in a brown paper bag). When it comes out, I drizzle it with olive oil and Parmesan cheese.

Being the brilliant Sheltie that Dakota is, he KNOWS when you are talking about POPCORN, even if you SPELL IT! He also knows what the container looks like that I keep it in and will begin losing his mind whenever he sees it!

Being the HORRIBLE doggy Mom that I am, I often like to egg Dakota on, (he’s just sooo easy to get worked up!), and that is just what I was doing the other night.

Enjoy this silly video and please excuse my “singing!!” Dakota had actually “sung” with me the day before, and I was trying to get him to do it again, but I wasn’t horribly successful!

Once Dakota had his fill of my annoying him….he “exits stage left!!!!!”

Now go and pop some for yourself and have a great day!!!

Birthday Thanks!!!

I didn’t blog about it this year for a host of reasons, (the main one is I have had an awful chest cold the past two weeks that is FINALLY leaving!),  but those that are on Facebook know that Thursday, October 20th was my birthday, (“My” meaning the Mom).

I wanted to share the adorable cards that I received, (I apologize, I was going to list them one by one but I am way too lazy to do that!)

Please know how much I appreciate all of the greetings that I received via email and Facebook, and if I accidentally missed anyone, it was not intentional!!

Thank you so much!!!

Each and every one of you made me smile on a year that I just wasn’t much into smiling, and I DEEPLY APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU!!! THANK YOU AND I SEND MUCH LOVE!!!

Blanket Boy

Mom,  you’re not Will and I am neither Eko OR Penny and your photography stinks!!! You are sooo embarrassing me! You made me look like a GIRL and I am a BOY!!

Will, Emily, Eko and Penny, is there room for a Sheltie at your place?

I’m running away.

Barks and licks and love,

Dakota
