Licks and Love for my Holiday Cards!

Hi all! It’s Dakota! If you celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a great one! If you celebrate Chanukah, you are STILL celebrating!

I would like to thank EVERY FURRY who sent me a holiday card via snail mail!! Mom and I feel bad because this year we couldn’t send them to everyone, so we just sent them to those that we received cards from. Hopefully next year, we can send to everyone and participate in the gift exchange too!

Your adorable and beautiful cards mean the world to us!! We are posting them here, sorry that this didn’t come out great.

Cody and I were practically tied in the number of cards we received via snail mail…both of us got around 30!! Mom and Dad? We won’t talk about them BOL!

Thank you so much dear furiends!!

We love our cards!

Barks and licks and love,

Dakota

The BEST New Holiday Tradition For 2014!

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Rachael Ray Nutrish. All thoughts and opinions are my own.  As always, thank you for reading and supporting our sponsors.

Hi every kitty and woofie! It’s Dakota!!

I am so excited to see all of you!

Many of you know that I am a Sheltie that is of the Jewish persuasion, so instead of having a Christmas tree and all, I celebrate Chanukah. (The Festival of Lights).  We light our Menorah every night for eight nights, and if you are lucky you get presents all eight nights!

I know that  my kitty brother, Cody, and I don’t get presents all eight nights because Mom says we have too many toys, so I wasn’t quite as excited about Chanukah as I should have been.  Then, I sat myself down and said, “Chanukah and Christmas aren’t just about toys, they are holidays that are about giving to OTHERS too!” Well, as soon as I changed my thoughts, the most exciting thing happened! I am ECSTATIC to tell you about something that happened at my den the first night of Chanukah, that if I have anything to bark about it, it will be CERTAIN to happen EVERY year!

It all started when I was just sitting around being the perfect gentleman:

you see, I KNOW when I think pawsitive and strike the gentleman pose, good things will happen! Sure enough, it worked!

My super Sheltie ears perked up at the sound of the UPS man leaving a package at our door! I was so excited I could barely contain myself. As it turned out, the package was for Cody, NOT for me. His Secret Paws partner had sent him a package!!

There was a beautiful card too! We were thrilled to learn that Cody’s Secret Paws partners were  Melissa and Truffles over at Melissa’s Mochas, Mysteries and Meows!

Cody  had all sorts of gifts that were wrapped with his name on them! As Cody pawed through his presents, he told me that Melissa and Truffles had sent presents to ME TOO!! Woofies! I couldn’t believe my EYES!

PRESENTS!! FOR ME!!!

Mom said that before I could open anything I had to put my yarmulke on and join Mom, Dad and Cody over by the Menorah and say the Chanukah Candle Lighting Blessing

Once that was done I could have my presents!

Mom was impressed that I didn’t try to rip the festive gift wrap off my presents. I was so happy that I received something, that I wanted to savor the different scents. I had a feeling there was something super good inside!

The first present I opened contained a DUCK!

Pretty cool isn’t it?

Then the surprise of all surprises appeared!

See for yourself!

I was so happy I could NOT stop SMILING!!

Melissa and Truffles must have known that there is NOTHING that makes me smile MORE than having my SOUP BONES, my reputation as a respected  Ambassadog for Nutrish is well-known around these parts, but I digress… Melissa knew that these bones would bring a HUGE SMILE to my face and sure enough, she was right!

I immediately struck my gentleman pose, Mom wasn’t giving me my Soup Bones fast enough, so I made sure I didn’t break my stare, “Come on Mom! Give me my Soup Bones! PLEAAASE!! “

Did she open them right away?

Noooo! She had the nerve to take a photo of them!

I sat in shock, what was with this woman? Then, when I thought I couldn’t take the suspense any longer, they were mine, ALL MINE!!

I could smell the delicious aroma!!!

The delicious scent teased my ample Sheltie nose!

I just HAD to have a LICK!

I COULDN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE

I HAD TO HAVE THEM!!

THE HECK WITH BEING A GENTLEMAN!

I MOVED IN FOR THE KILL!

Well, there you have it! I think that EVERY year moving forward, that I am gonna hang with Cody and his feline pals and make sure that he takes part in the Secret Paws event!

Gotta hand it to those kitties and their humans, they sure lived up to the hype of being rather intelligent! They knew just how to make this Sheltie’s holiday a special one!

Thanks to Melissa and Truffles for giving me the BEST CHANUKAH EVER!

If you celebrate Chanukah make your pawrents get you one Soup Bone for every night, if you celebrate Christmas ask them to put them in your stocking! I am certain that once you do, they will become a tradition at YOUR house too!!!!

Now, if you will excuse me, I have some important business to take care of:

THEY ARE MINE!! ALL MINE!!!!!!!!

“See ya, when I see ya!!”

Barks and licks and Soup Bone Love,

Dakota

Have yourself a Sheltie little Christmas…

Merry Christmas my Friends!

Of course I didn’t make this video, but when I found it I couldn’t resist!!

It’s a SHELTIE CHRISTMAS!

ENJOY!!
