It’s Autumn, or is it?

Today, (September 22, 2017), at 4:02 pm EST, autumn officially arrived in the Northern Hemisphere

Could someone please tell our temperatures in Michigan that it is now autumn? Our temps are supposed to be in the 80s (F) until the middle of next week. My Mom is NOT happy! And…”if Mama isn’t happy, then NOBODY is happy!!”

Barks and licks and love,

Happy First Day of Fall!!!!

Hi all! It’s Dakota and Mom and I could not be happier that today at 10:21 AM EST Fall officially arrived!!!!

This past summer was one of our hottest here in Michigan and neither Mom, nor myself are big fans of the heat. Who WOULD be wearing a luxurious fur coat like mine?

The photos in this post obviously are older. Our leaves haven’t changed into their magical, vibrant splendor yet, but I month from now they will be at peak!

Mom and I can’t wait to take walks around the neighborhood and in parks, enjoying the splendor that will be all around us.

Cooler temps, football, cozy nights, ahhhhhh we LOVE FALL!!!

Do you love Fall as much as Mom and I do? What is your favorite thing about Fall? What is YOUR favorite season?

Barks and licks and love,

Happy Autumn! (Wordless Wednesday)

My Favorite Fall Pastimes With My Dog #sponsored

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Rachael Ray Nutrish. All thoughts and opinions are my own.  As always, thank you for reading and supporting our sponsors.

Fall is my favorite time of year. It always has been. There is nothing better than the smell of  the  cool,  crisp autumn air first thing in the morning. Fall brings chrysanthemums (which happen to be my favorite flower),  football, Halloween, vibrant, colorful leaves, a renewed energy, and of course, my birthday in October! September will soon be ending and October will begin, October is by far my favorite month!

When the days are chilly,

you can throw a hat on your head

and greet the world feeling fine!!

Of course you can always just let the autumn wind

blow through your hair as well!

One of my favorite fall pastimes is taking a walk

with Dakota and my husband on a sunshiny day,

enjoying the splendor around us!

One of our favorite places to walk happens to be where we live, which you see above. We have a lake and an abundance of trees, it is quite scenic and beautiful! There is nothing like listening to the sound of the leaves crispy and crunchy beneath your feet!

Another favorite haunt is a park near our home that has a wonderful walking trail and a soccer field where we have often let Dakota run like the wind!

This year, I am hoping to take Dakota to a super fun place that is right near our home. It is called The Franklin Cider Mill and it is so much fun! There are pumpkins, donuts, ducks swimming in a stream and a cornucopia of locally grown products such as Pumpkin and Apple Butter, Pumpkin Pie, assorted cheeses, etc., that are perfect to enjoy on a cold and crisp Fall day!
All of the walking works up an appetite! Since we are HUGE football fans, Dakota dines in style in his Detroit Lions food bowl!

Dakota also loves to play with his Detroit Lions tug toy!

Chilly Fall days lead to rumbling tummies on windy, spooky, fall nights! Dakota and I have a special snack that we love sharing! Can you guess what it is? It is my special  P-O-P-C-O-R-N   (I have to spell it or Dakota will want some, WAIT! Dakota can spell, so he knows what that means anyway!),  that I make in the evening when we are watching our favorite shows! I pop the actual kernels in the microwave, (none of that microwave bag stuff for us thank you very much!). It is great popped with no oil, then, you lightly drizzle olive oil on top and sprinkle with parmesan cheese! It is a favorite of Dakota’s by far!!!

When the sun sets and it’s time for bed, there are KISSES all around!!!
Kisses are great ALL year, but in the Fall they are even better!

Fall Fun!!

Happy Friday everyone!!

What wonderful weather

we had in Michigan this past week!

It was so nice that Mom decided

to air out her fluffy butt and mine,

and take a walk outside!

Of course we brought Dad along with us!

Mom likes this photo

because she says I remind her of

Lassie sitting by the stream!

“Timmy! Are you stuck in the well?”

These are condos near ours.

Ours looks nicer than these.

I actually had to WALK what a concept! To get here!

Fall colors by the stream near my house

I kept rolling and rolling in the grass,

and leaves

Mom kept saying it was just muddy

but then, she wondered…

We STILL aren’t sure!

No worries!

(I’m clean now!)

It was a great day!

Just Mom,  Me and My Daddy!!

Daddy playing with my muddy or  “poopy” fur

better not shake paws with HIM!

Have a great weekend everyone!!
