#Dogs in Hot Cars-How you can help! From #Petfinder

About a month ago I was reading a blog post by our friend Jodi Stone, of the blog, Heart Like A Dog, where she was relaying an event that took place when she not once, but TWICE noticed dogs left in cars in weather where it was too warm to do so. 

In this blog post she mentions actions she took  and wanted to take, to help the dogs that were carelessly left.

Like Jodi, I often think of hurling a brick through the window of the car (or better yet, into the head of the brainiac that would even do something so cruel), but thankfully I stop myself. What SHOULD we do when faced with witnessing dogs who are left in hot cars? Petfinder has some answers:

It’s National Pet Month in the U.S.!

National Pet Month is a celebration of the benefits that pets bring to our lives and vice versa! In the UK it is celebrated in April, in the U.S. it is celebrated in May.

Promote the benefits of pet ownership

Support Pet Adoption

You can do this by visiting websites such as Petfinder,  where you can find over 300,000 adoptable pets from over 13,000 adoption groups!

Make people aware of the benefits of pets for people and people for pets!

National Pet Month also hopes to:
