Four Paws Up For The BendiBrush – The First Totally Bendable Brush For Dogs and Cats! Give-Away!

When I was contacted by Anipure Pet Products asking if I was interested in trying out and reviewing the BendiBrush, the first totally bendable brush on the market for dogs and cats,  their intent was to have me try it out on Cody.  Those of you who know Cody, know that he is a short-haired cat. Being completely candid, MOST brushes would work well on him, there are a few that don’t, but for Cody brushing isn’t a challenge.

Then there is Dakota.

For Dakota brushing IS a challenge for a host of reasons! The most obvious, is that he has abundant, thick, dense fur that is prone to tangling and matting, which often makes regular brushing unpleasant for him, and if he isn’t happy, it makes brushing unpleasant for ME as well. That translates to not brushing him enough between his grooming appointments, which in turn, makes it harder for the Groomer when he is brought in! Shetland Sheepdogs are “gifted” in a variety of areas, being blessed with lush, gorgeous fur is definitely one of them!

There was one brush I was supposed to review with Dakota that I ended up NOT doing because just the sight of it terrified him. That created a new problem. A dog that never loved being brushed to begin with, but tolerated it, was now terrified of being brushed at home. (Dakota has ALWAYS been fine at the Groomer).  I had a real problem on my hands.

NOT ANYMORE!

I admit when I first saw the BendiBrush I had my doubts. BIG DOUBTS! When I looked at it in the package I thought, “No way is this going to work on Dakota’s fur, no way.” I was WRONG. BIG TIME.

Oh how I wish I’d had one of them when Bridge was alive.
She loved to be brushed – but only in the places SHE wanted to be brushed in. Which didn’t include, ears, tail and leg feathers.

We use a stripping brush, so this wouldn’t be right for us, but it is an interesting concept.

Very cool! Brushing rarely happens here, because my two HATE it. Chewy’s coat tangles so easily.

Maybe I will give this brush a try. It sure looks different from anything else I’ve used.

  8. Dakota looks great, that is a nice brush.

Anything that makes brushing easier is good! But you don’t know what a pile of fur is until you’ve brushed a Pyrenean Mountain Dog! 🙂

  13. Hi,

It’s my first time here and I’m pleased I found this review. I own 2 GSD’s and GSD cross. German Shepherds shed all year round and blow their undercoats twice a year in spring and fall.

We’re just finishing up the coat blowing for spring – I live in South Africa. And it was hard work. Raking undercoats for 2 large GSD’s twice a day takes time. And if I skip just one grooming session, I have tumble weeds of hair collecting in the corners of my home. Vacuum them up and the result looks like a fully grown Maltese.

I have a ton of grooming tools and my favorite and most helpful it the undercoat rake. But I’m always on the lookout for tools to make grooming easier for me and more comfortable for my dogs.

I love the way this brush looks and if it works on Dakota, it’ll work on my 3 too.

    Thanks for the great info.

    Cheers,
    Rosmary

Rosmary thanks so much for stopping by and for your insightful and kind comment! Dakota loves this and he isn’t a fan of “raky” kinds of brushes. Where in S.Africa are you? I have family in Johannesburg 🙂
