#ThankAVeterinarian on Veterinarian Appreciation Day™

Hi my furiends!!! Today is a most SPECIAL DAY!!! Today is Veterinarian Appreciation Day!!!   I have always loved my Vet and Mom and Dad are super impressed at the way I am the PERFECT GENTLEMAN when I go there!

Cody and Dakota at Vet

Mom thinks the reason I am so good at the Vet comes from the fact that my breeder was a Veterinarian (well, she STILL is!), and Mom thinks I got used to being poked and prodded from puppy hood. Plus, she thinks I got used to the smells that are associated with being at the Vet.

Now I love our Vet because he is an exceptionally kind, caring, compassionate and honest person. Whenever I see him, he speaks to me and touches me in a way that shows nothing but love. I KNOW he loves me and has my best interest at heart, so I am pretty relaxed when I go there. In fact, my Vet says that I “take things in stride” when I go there! Many times since I am groomed at the Vet too, I get a shot on the same day and Mom and Dad aren’t even there when I get it because they know I am fine there and that I completely trust my Vet.

Mom, Dad, Cody and I are grateful to have “Dr.Smiley” as our Vet. There are MANY, MANY times that he has gone above and beyond, returning Mom’s frantic calls,  even when he was on vacation.

Veterinarians are dedicated, caring people and today is the perfect day to show them some love!

  4. It’s so important to have a good vet for you babies. So important to their health.

  5. Glad you like the vet Dakota. I bet they are always happy to see your handsome face! Shiner never did like it when I took her to work. She would howl away in her kennel all day. I am quite impressed with her these last couple of years as she’s started to be much more friendly at the vet’s.

  6. I’m so happy that you have a vet you love, Dakota. (By the way, is his name really Dr. Smiley, or is that just what you call him? Wonderful either way!) We love our vet, too. He works in a clinic that’s in an old house within walking distance of our house. So it’s like visiting a friend . . . which he is.

  8. I like my vet and wag my tail…until they start poking at me…BOL! A treat might help…sometimes, OMD!
But growlmy likes the vet(s) so that is a good thing.
Growlmy thinks my problems with the vet peeps is that there are too many of them all at once…all relative strangers to me and they all want to touch me, etc at the same time…sheesh. Not happening if I have any grrr’s about it, BOL!

I like my vet okay – she’s very nice to me, too!

  11. I didn’t know there was a Veterinarian Day, we love both our vets. The are good listeners to Mom and they treat us with respect and care. We give them a kiss when leaving to let them know they are special:)

  12. How ironic…we were at our vet’s on Friday. Yes, it’s good to have a good working relationship with your pet care provider-it could mean life and death. Luckily we’ve had good experiences; our old vet was even a star on Animal Planet’s Emergency Vets & E-Vet Interns TV programs 🐾
