A Children’s Board Book : “Amos Likes to Jump” – by Margaret Lowder, Illustrations by Ellen Davis, Enter to Win!!

I was thrilled when I was contacted by Ellen Davis,  the illustrator for a small, family owned children’s book business, Amos Book Co.  What made this contact extra special is that it is Ellen and her Aunt who created  books about her Aunt’s real life dog named Amos.

From The Amos Book Company:

“Amos Likes To Jump teaches young ones the value of individuality, and why being “you” is the best way to be. The story, created by author Margaret Lowder, is heart-warming and fun. The illustrations, by Ellen Davis, are bright and energetic – just like Amos himself! This quality board book is substantial in size, and durable enough for children of all ages.”

“A vivid combination of beautiful imagery and a fun spirit!!”

FROM DAKOTA’S DEN: The story is precious!  Children will love joining Amos on his JUMPING adventures and will giggle with glee as he jumps so high that he soars up in the sky! His jumping enables him to make friends with birds and other animals.

This generously sized, glossy board book takes me back…back to a time when I remember having tiny hands and holding a book like Amos Likes To Jump was pure joy. It is super sturdy. The story itself has catchy rhymes that will be easy for little ones to join in with when reading out loud as a bedtime story, or anytime!

The illustrations by Ellen Davis are delightful! Vibrant, vivid, fun, engaging, everything children’s book illustrations SHOULD be! I found them to be captivating. If I was enthralled with them, imagine how the little ones will enjoy them!

Amos Likes to Jump also has an activity book which accompanies it!

Amos Activity Book

This book definitely brought back some wonderful memories from my own childhood when I loved nothing more than to read a book and find that on the first page it said “This book belongs to:” and there was a space to print my name. I took great pride in carefully printing my name, as most children do!

There is a page where children can practice printing their upper and lower case letters, with drawings on each page that little ones will enjoy coloring. Other activities include mazes, matching, numbers and letters, tic-tac-toe, free-hand drawing and more – all with an Amos The Dog theme!

Remember “Connect the dots?” Oh how I loved that! There is a “connect the dot page” and various activities on all of the accompanying pages. The activity book is 10 pages with activities on each side of the page which makes it 20 pages.

You can find more information about the book at www.amosthedog.com and on Facebook . On the Facebook page,  treat recipes, upcoming book signings and readings, and the antics of Amos himself are highlighted.

She vividly describes the life of Amos in these books, from his imaginary travels to his secret super powers.
