This post is long overdue!!

Back in April, I entered a contest on Love is being owned by a Husky for the revolutionary new water bowl from Heyrex, the Torus Water Bowl.

Did you know?

TORUS was named the #1 best-selling dog water bowl in the USA, according to Amazon.com’s Dog Bowls Best Sellers List. Now that I own this bowl, I can see why!

After FINALLY setting up my bowl, (YESTERDAY, YES YESTERDAY and I had the bowl since late April or May!! My use of the word “finally” has nothing to do with  ease of setting up the bowl, it has EVERYTHING to do with my laziness and procrastination about finally having the time to do it and to blog about it! That is also the reason I have no photos of MY babies drinking from it.)

When I went to set it up, I must tell you that I kept TRYING to make the setup process hard, and TRUST ME, it was NOT!

The reason for my paranoia and skepticism was due to the fact that I have tried so many fountains that I can barely keep them all straight (yes, this is NOT a fountain, it is  a water bowl that filters and recirculates the water as your pet drinks it). I am using the fountains as a comparison because they all utilized filters and were much harder to put together than their claims. Guess where they all are now? You got it…….in the great fountain garbage dumpster in the sky!

Totally forgetting the fabulous review that Love is being owned by a Husky did, I kept thinking that the Torus water bowl needed batteries to operate (it doesn’t), I looked for cords, (it doesn’t require the use of any electricity AT ALL), I looked for confusing instructions, THERE IS NOTHING CONFUSING ABOUT THEIR INSTRUCTIONS. But…at first I did set it up wrong because I did NOT thoroughly read my instructions, I just assumed that I knew. After re-visiting the Husky blog and viewing  the fantastic collage and video that they had created, it was all CRYSTAL CLEAR!! (Just like the water now is in our bowl!!).  Because there is NO WAY I could have ever created a video as adorable as Jenna’s, (what better testers than THREE HUSKIES!!??), and with her permission, I am re-posting both the collage and the video below.

Set-Up is a BREEZE!

(Her video with her THREE Huskies testing the bowl are better than any video that I could create showcasing the same product).

Not just for dogs, the TORUS bowl is for cats too, providing pets with cool, clean and fresh, carbon-filtered water anytime the pet is thirsty.

Guess who used our Torus bowl first?

Our cat!! Cody!! The second the bowl was ready to go, Cody was the first one there giving it his whisker test seal of approval!! (You see, Cody will not drink out of his own bowls, he feels he MUST use Dakota’s.).

Dakota soon followed, and as promised, when Dakota began drinking, the water started re-circulating in the bowl!

The benefits of TORUS™

  • Auto-replenishes
  • Large water capacity
  • Travel friendly
  • Stored water protection
  • Sizes to suit all pets
  • Made from food-grade materials
  • Filters water
  • Water fill, flow and lock options
  • No mess, no spills
  • Ergonomic design
  • Multiple colors
  • 12 month warranty

Where conventional water bowls contain a limited water supply, which is further reduced by evaporation and spills, TORUS (Latin for ‘hollow circular ring’) stores water inside the walls to ensure an ample and automatically replenishing and self-dispensing supply – protected against dust and contaminates. The valve position, when locked, secures waters inside the walls, making it completely portable. Its soft rubber feet and low profile geometry make it perfect for travel because it won’t move around in vehicles.

Available in multiple colors, the prices are $59.95 (2 Liters), $54.95 (1 Liter), and $17.95 for a five-month filter supply (Thank you Torus for your generosity in also sending me a five-month supply of filters!)  TORUS is PBA-free, with a 12-month warranty, and no need for batteries or any power source.

I have to tell you, when they come out with a smaller bowl (which is in the works), I am going to purchase that one as well and hope that Cody will drink out of his OWN bowl!!  In the meantime, my LONG search for the appropriate  fountain or water bowl HAS FINALLY ENDED!!! I could NOT be happier with my Torus bowl! Thank you Love is being owned by a Husky, for the great give-away, and for your patience with how long it took me to blog about this!! I have to say, that the Torus Bowl is my FAVORITE pet product that I have reviewed thus far in 2015!! Oh and I was NOT paid to say that! I am absolutely in LOVE with this product!

Those are some thirsty dogs, did they just eat something salty ?:)

What a cool product! Love the fact that it refills itself when empty. Especially good for the summer to make sure your dogs bowl doesn’t end up empty.

Will have to go check it out.

  7. That’s pretty cool, but like the Sibes in the vid, I just might drink and drink and drink because I like to finish what I start!
I wonder what happens if someone (not naming names) would stick her paw in it and knock it over? Or dig for China?

Her video us AWESOME!! All 3 Huskies slurping at once. I love it!
Thanks for doing this post. I think I am going to have to get one for my kitty, Chip who is on kidney failure. I try to give him filtered water, but he likes to drink out of the faucet.
Sorry to hear you can’t recommend a good fountain. I could really use one that’s people friendly for set up & use.

  14. My momma loves that bowl, a no-mess bowl would be the real mc coy… I always flood the whole floor and filtered water makes sense in our area , we could stop to buy bottled water for me.

  15. Jan K says:

Congrats on winning this bowl! I thought it looked great too. We like the fountain we have, but only one dog and the cat use it. Two of the dogs don’t, I think because it has to be located next to an outlet, which is not where their water has always been. That’s what I liked about this bowl, you don’t have to plug it in. We may have to get one some day!

  16. We also won this bowl and love it. At the time it took our old cat Nin about a week to transition to it, and it took Hailey a few days (we had 2 water dishes for a week, we weren’t sure if our now angel was going to figure it out). Once they all used it once, they were hooked. I love it. I especially love on these hotter days that it keeps the water cool. Enjoy!
