If we are being honest with ourselves, how many of us have a dog (or dogs), that ALWAYS do as they are told? C’mon, BE HONEST, there are NO perfect pooches out there!!

In Bad Dog, No Biscuit by Anthony Smith, you will chortle (quite possibly OUT LOUD!) when you see basic commands such as:

  • Roll Over
  • Down
  • Fetch
  • Stay
  • Sit

and more  depicted through a DOG’S interpretation of what THEY would like to do when we give them these commands and MORE!

Can you ensure that order and sanity prevails or will the anarchic hound get the upper paw?

Dakota is the type of dog that will do what HE wants to do, WHEN he wants to do it, so I MUST keep this book OUT OF HIS PAWS!!!

The illustrations are bright, bold and fun and were created by Anthony Smith who has worked for Marvel and numerous other comics publishers.

You can visit him on Facebook  and on the Souvenir Press website

You can purchase Bad Dog, No Biscuit and Anthony’s other books on the links below:

  5. Whoohoo! MJF loves to not obey…unless a treat is forthcoming…

His best non obedience is recall…IE I am digging in the back, to root out a bunny den and you dare interrupt my doings to make me come?? Um…see ya, growlmy later..much later…

That’s why our one acre is totally fenced in, and buried down under the ground even to keep me in…and I can’t leave the premises unless I am on a leash, because, well I will RUN!! BOL!

That book sounds like someone knows me…OMD!

I’m not sure if it’s his age, but Cody has definitely developed some attitude lately.

  8. Ariel says:

The command I’m always trying that doesn’t ever work is “No Bark!” Usually because they are all making too much noise to even hear me tell them.

  9. sara, oreo and chewy says:

Fun! Of course, my dogs are perfect! They can do no wrong, because their cuteness makes up for it!

My dogs think “quiet” means bark louder!

  10. I would have to say the one command both boys ignore is “quiet” when the post lady comes to the door – they are always so excited to see what she has bought them and get a pat and cuddle from her

  11. Two French Bulldogs says:

Oh boy! Sounds like a good one

  12. Harley needs no additional ideas about mischief! Sounds like a cute book though…

  13. KateV says:

I use both verbal and hand signals with my dogs. Lately, when clearly given a hand signal such as “lie down”, Wager will look at my hand, look at me, then rush forward and rub his neck or back all over my hand- taking advantage of forced neck rubs and back scratches! He’s so cute, I can’t be mad.

  14. I can only imagine how brown dawgs would be depicted in a book like this! lol

  15. The illustrations are hilarious!

A command we give that they love to ignore would be “be quiet!” That would be the pointy-eared dogs at our house!

  19. That book sounds like a lot of fun! The dogs I’ve lived with, when they did what they were told, they wanted something. But, usually, it was more of if one did something, they all had to give it a try.
    Hugs, Dakota!

Barley doesn’t necessarily disobey commands–she just gets so excited about doing something that sometimes she runs through every command she knows until she gets the right one.
